As of Friday night, we have our two teams for the 18+ Championship. Spartans are awaiting the winner of Goon Squad and Royals. It was a pitchers duel and low scoring affair for an SABL game. Brad Spencer of Goon Squad and Brandon Wallace of the Royals were on the bump for their teams and both went the distance. The Goon Squad scored 1 run in the 1st and the 3rd inning. The game didn't see another run until the bottom of the 6th inning. The Royals had multiple singles and a few walks to score 3 runs. They were still threatening until Brad Spencer ended the inning with a double play. Going into the 7th inning the Goon Squad were down 2-3. After a walk, hbp, a strikeout, single, and another strikeout. Jack Myers ended up at the plate with bases loaded and 2 outs. Jack being the clutch ballplayer we all know him as ended up hitting a bases clearing double. Giving Goon Squad the lead of 5-3. In the bottom of the 7th, Brad came out and finished the game with 2 strikeouts and a pop out. The Goon Sqaud will be playing the Spartans July 11-13 in a best of 3 series for the Championship. It was a great run by the Royals. They have been in the Championships for what feels like the last decade. ... See MoreSee Less
